Mouth Trays and Mouth Tray Types
There are basically 3 main groups of mouth trays available to the general public. The off-the-shelf one size type,
the custom fit mouth trays (dentists use these) and the Thermoforming home moulding teeth trays.
Off the Shelf Mouth Trays
These are a one size fits all approach to teeth whitening mouth trays. These tend not to work well,
often using more gel and more spillage inside your mouth. We dont recommend these types of tray at all
and suggest that you dont purchase them. Make sure any kit you get doesnt supply these or you could find
it costing money and causing more mess inside your mouth.
Thermoforming Mouth Trays
These trays give you the benefits of being able to be moulded easily at home. All you do is boil them
in hot water till they get soft then remove and wait a little for them to cool. Then you put them
inside yoru mouth and bite down for a few seconds, as the tray continues to cool an exact mould is made
of your teeth. This will give a good fit to your teeth, will minimise any spillage and these are the
kinds of trays we provide.
Custom Moulded Mouth Trays
These trays are used by dentists to make a mould of your teeth. they put a putty in your mouth which
you bite down on and then create a cast of your exact mouth layout. Once they have a cast they use a plastic
to mould a guard to the cast of your teeth. These systems are usually alot more expensive and are not a great
deal different results wise.
Tooth Whitening gels/Bleaches
The most important aspects to know about when purchasing teeth whitening are are they safe, are they dentist
standard, will they work etc etc, but also important when comparing products is too look at how much you get
and what strengths are there, and which is most suitable for you.
Teeth Whitening Amounts
Teeth whitening gels/bleaches are sold in syringes measuring in cc or ml. Many different places will sell
different amounts for their kits and it pays to be aware what you are getting for the price. Although cheaper
isnt always better try to compare like for like where. As for ml and cc, they are the same unit so dont be too
bothered, 10ml is the same as 10cc. The amount you will need will depend on how white you want your teeth, how
long it will take your teeth to get to this and what concentration of gels you need. The higher the concentration
the faster to get results, however for the very high concentration gels (25% and above) we recommend for second
time users that are more experienced and also know who the other teeth whitening concentrations affect the
sensitivity of their teeth.
Teeth Whitening Bleach Concentrations/Strengths (%)
Teeth whitening gels/bleaches come in a many different concentrations. Basically the higher the concentration the
stronger the gels. The higher gels work faster towards your goals but offer more suseptability to the user getting
increased sensitivity. These higher concentrated gels are recommended to those with previous experience with
whitening their teeth we recommend purchasing the lower strength gels at first and then moving up to the stronger
gels later. The gels work both in the same way, and also acheive the exactly the same results, however, the lower
concentrate gels take a little longer and are very good for people with increased tooth sensitivity.
Some sellers will claim that their gels are 22% or 35% which makes them "stronger and better" this isnt true,
quality isnt based on the concentration, you need to purchase the % that gives you least discomfort, we can offer
an unbiased advice as we sell all strengths and allow you to make an informed descision. Also any website that
encorages essentially inexperienced people the higher strength gels are missinformed or just not willing to give
their customers the FACTS!
Teeth Whitening Bleach Freshness
Our products are 100% FRESH. This is very important. Other kits you buy, may be old and not stored in a correclty
refrigerated atmosphere. This can breakdown the tooth whitening formula making the product ineffective (in other
words, it doesn't work). Upon receiving your product, it should last up to 2 years as long as you refrigerate.
Dental Quality Gels and Bleaches
Purchasing Dentist quality gels/bleaches ensures that you get the best results possible for your teeth. It ensures
safety and that it will not affect the structure of your teeth or cause damage to the soft gum tissues in your mouth.
Tooth Sensitivity
If you have sensitive teeth and gums then you should make sure you are fully prepared before you begin using any
kind of tooth whitening kits. Purchase the lowest contration gels and gradually build up on usage. Use a floride
tooth paste and mouth wash for your usuall oral hygene, use desensitising gels. Testing your gums and teeth for
sensitivity before a full treatment is recommended. If in doubt visit your dentist. However your dentist may try
to convince you to use his/her services instead, which is fine if you have £300-400 spare, just remember what ever
these kits are AS good as those he/she will be using. Dont use these teeth whitening products if you have receeded
gums, cavaties, gum disease or bad teeth.
